Joann and Tommy are an adorable couple! They had a beautiful, small micro wedding because of the pandemic, but it was a day to remember! With a small number of people in attendance, it led to some unique and special moments that don't usually happen with a big wedding.
Small Santa Barbara Micro Wedding
Joann and Tommy did not have a bridal party so they decided to mix things up and get ready together! They had a gorgeous hotel room at the Kimpton Canary Hotel. Even though it was a small wedding Joann didn't let that stop her from feeling like a true bride. She had her makeup done beautifully, and gorgeous gown, and veil. I loved seeing them helping each other get ready and enjoyed the last few quiet moments together before becoming husband and wife. I loved when Tommy zipped up her dress for her!
The Santa Barbara Courthouse has always been a very popular location for the wedding ceremony but it has been especially popular through the pandemic. There are many Santa Barbara Courthouse ceremony location options, but they chose to rent the "sunken gardens." It was the perfect place with a beautiful backdrop of the courthouse and stairs up high for their guests to see. Their guests stood at the bottom of the stairs and happily took photos of the two becoming husband and wife!
Intimate Reception at Stella Mare's
Joann, Tommy and I had lots of time to take portraits together! We had a blast walking around the courthouse taking all different types of shots. We then joined their guests for an intimate reception in the Stella Mare's greenhouse for a delicious french dinner.
The couple was so relaxed the whole day and loved getting to chat with their closest family and friends during the reception. They still did a traditional cake cutting and splurged on bottles of wine as favors for each of their guests, which they of course loved!
Despite the pandemic, there have still been so many beautiful weddings that have pushed us all to think outside of the box. Sometimes that leads to even better weddings than we may have originally planned! Congratulations to Joann and Tommy!
